About

Two trucks
and a shed.

That is how Frontline started in 2009. Fourteen years later there are bases in five metros and a hundred-odd people, and the way we answer the phone has not changed.

The short version

We got into this
because the delivery
kept not turning up.

Frontline was started by two blokes who had spent a decade inside other people's transport companies watching the same thing happen: a delivery booked, a delivery promised, a customer at home all day for nothing. They would ring the retailer, the retailer would ring the carrier, and everyone would get a shrug.

So the first rule here was that every account gets a person whose name you know and whose number you have. Not a portal, not a ticket, a person. That rule has survived four base openings and it is still the reason most of our clients say they stay.

Your customer never gets to blame the contractor. They blame you.

The second rule is that we own the trucks and employ the crews. Subcontracting is cheaper right up until the morning nobody shows up at your DC, and then it is the most expensive decision you ever made. We use owner-drivers for overflow, on our terms, in our livery, under our compliance system — never as the plan.

The third is that we have never wanted a warehouse. Holding a client's stock makes us responsible for something we are not good at, and puts an extra handling step between your DC and your customer's door. We would rather do one thing properly.

How we got here

Fourteen years,
five metros.

2009

Started with two rigids out of Laverton North, running overflow home deliveries for a Melbourne furniture retailer.

2013

Opened the Sydney base and took on our first full delivery contract — every home delivery for a national bedding brand.

2017

Added installation and assembly after clients asked us to stop leaving flat-packs in hallways.

2021

Brisbane and Adelaide bases opened. Scanning, photo POD and live ETA moved onto our own crew app.

2024

Perth base opened. First four electric rigids into the Melbourne metro fleet.

Safety & compliance

Chain of
Responsibility.

Under the Heavy Vehicle National Law, everybody in the supply chain carries a duty — including you, as the customer who books the freight. We take ours seriously so that yours is easier to discharge.

Mass & dimension

Every vehicle is weighed and loads are planned against axle limits before dispatch. We will refuse a load that cannot be moved legally, and we will tell you why.

Fatigue management

Crews run to accredited work and rest hours with electronic logs. Run sheets are built around the law, not around the delivery promise.

Maintenance

Scheduled servicing with pre-start checks logged on every shift. Defects take a vehicle off the road the same day.

Records on request

Certificates of currency, insurance, licences and our safety management plan are available to any customer who asks, any time.

If you are running a tender or an audit and need our documentation pack, email dispatch@frontlinefreight.com.au and we'll send it the same day.

In their words

Customers.

“We moved eleven stores across to Frontline over a weekend and the thing I keep coming back to is that nobody rang me about it on the Monday. That is the whole review, really.”
Dana Whitlock Supply Chain Manager · Furniture retail group, VIC
“Two-person delivery is where most carriers fall over. Their crews assemble it, take the packaging, take the old lounge, and they do not leave a mark on the hallway. Our delivery complaints dropped by about two-thirds.”
Peter Ngo Head of Operations · Homewares, NSW
